Earl T. Beyer

Earl T. Beyer, age 94, kind and loving father, passed into eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 24, 2025. He was born on January 26, 1931 to Alex and Rose (Behnke) Beyer on the family farm in Coleman, WI.

Earl graduated from the Evergreen School in Pound, WI in 1945. He began his worklife as a farmhand, then became a certified welder for the Kewaunee Shipyards. He learned carpentry while building homes for his brother Lawrence. He joined the Carpenters Union Local #1146 in 1962 and worked on many area building projects.

On August 28, 1954, he married Lulabel VanderKelen at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Henrysville, WI. Lu preceded him in death on March 25, 2005. Earl was a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Woodworkers Guild. His love of woodworking continued throughout his retirement. He was a lifelong learner, an avid reader and a lover of nature and history. Earl especially enjoyed traveling with his daughters.

Earl is survived by his loving daughter, Cindy Viertel; two sisters: Caroline Hoppe, and Rosie (Tim) Polzak; two sisters-in-law: Bea Beyer and Elaine Hecker, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lu, his parents, daughter, Kathleen Beyer; siblings: Meta (Otto) Steinkraus, Marie (Bernard) Hoppe, Viola (Leonard) Palpham, Lawrence (Dottie) Beyer, Leonard (Helen) Beyer, Norman (Elvira) Beyer, Norbert Beyer, Harold (Marilyn) Beyer; three brothers-in-law: Frank Hoppe, Norman (Janice) VanderKelen, and George Hecker; two nephews: Daniel Beyer and Paul Hecker; and one niece, Gail Beyer.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 30, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2160 Packerland Drive, Green Bay, funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm with Pastor Leon Ehlert officiating. Private burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Green Bay.

Special thanks to the Aurora Hospital ICU staff and to nephew, Mike Beyer, for generously giving his time and energy to helping Earl over the past years.
