Dorothy "Dottie" Vollmer, age 79, of Wausaukee, passed away on June 7, 2026.
She was born on January 14, 1947, to Anton and Margaret (Swiecichowski) Kabara in Pulaski, Wisconsin. Dottie graduated from Pulaski High School in 1965. She worked as a secretary at Carver Boat in Pulaski, she then moved to Milwaukee and worked at Marine Exchange Bank, where she met her husband, John Vollmer. On September 13, 1975, the two married in Pulaski. She had secretarial jobs throughout her career, the last one being with the Portage School District before retirement.
Dottie and John enjoyed traveling on their motorcycle throughout the Midwest. The two moved to Wausaukee because of their shared love for nature; to be able to be closer to the deer, the bears, and bird watching. She liked to shop with her best friend, Yvonne, baking with Darlene, and watching sports with Dave. She loved visiting her nieces and nephews and was always generous with her gift giving.
Dottie is survived by her sister, Darlene (Dave) Blecha; sisters-in-law, Irene Kabara and Yvonne Kabara; brothers-in-law: Tom (Mary), Rick (Cheryl), Ronald (Jodi), Tony, Terry and Alan Vollmer; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vollmer; parents; siblings, Richard Kabara and Daniel Kabara; and her nephew, Nolan Blecha.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Dottie on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr, Green Bay, WI 54304. A time for family and friends to visit will begin at 9 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be held the following day at 10 AM, Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Assumption BVM Cemetery in Pulaski.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aurora At Home Hospice Program, especially Lauren and Chelsey.
