Donald P. Hendricks Sr., 78, passed away leaving behind a legacy built on humility, hard work, and deep devotion to his family. Born on September 6, 1947, Donald lived a life defined by quiet strength, steady dedication, and a love for the outdoors that he shared generously with those around him.
Donald began his career at F. Hurlbut Co., working in steel fabrication before exploring other trades, including construction. He later retired from Brown County Cabinets in 2005. No matter the job, Donald approached his work with pride and a commitment to providing for his family. In his younger years, he also enjoyed the thrill of driving stock cars, a passion that added excitement to his early life.
Hunting and fishing were among Donald’s greatest joys, with walleye fishing always taking the top spot. He cherished teaching his family how to fish, hunt, and care for everyday things—especially the importance of proper vehicle maintenance. Time spent outdoors or gathered around a game table or cookout became treasured family tradition.
Donald also dedicated many years to organizing the Hendricks Family Reunion at Bay Beach, proudly carrying on the tradition started by his mother. Keeping the family connected meant the world to him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Hendricks, with whom he shared a lifetime of commitment and companionship. Together they were married on July 16, 1966, building a family and a life grounded in love and loyalty. Donald is also survived by his five children—Donald Vieau, Bobbie (Tim) Harkey, Rudy Hendricks (Jody), James Hendricks, and Jennifer Linzmeier—as well as many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his wisdom, humor, and the love he poured into them. Donald cared for Patricia deeply and faithfully, loving her wholeheartedly to the very end.
Donald was the son of Edna and Peter Hendricks (both preceded him in death) and one of a large, close‑knit group of siblings. Surviving siblings include Carol Ault (Steve), Marlene (Bobby) Sandoval, Jonie Zeiteus, Earl Hendricks (Bonnie), and Karen Belanger (Patrick). Siblings who preceded him in death include Leon Hendricks, Janet Coppersmith, Beverly Sansala, Peter Hendricks (Linda), Patricia Casey, and Lilian Hendricks.
Donald will be remembered as a hardworking man, teacher, and the steady heart of his family. His traditions, his lessons, and the love he shared will continue to live on through all who knew him.
