Debra "Deb" Diane Lancour, 71, of Gulliver, MI passed away on August 27, 2026 at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility, after a decade long battle of Alzheimer's Dementia. She was born September 19, 1954 to Robert D. (Diane) Smith and Patricia (Tennant) Smith. 

On February 12, 1971, she married the love of her life, Edward D. Lancour, and together they raised 3 children. Daniel (Jennifer) Lancour Shawna (John) Cogswell, and Michelle Lancour.

Over the years, Deb has worked many jobs throughout her life, including the US Postal Service, JC Penney, Thompson Fish Hatchery, The Mustard Seed, and Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital before retiring in 2016. 

Deb enjoyed hobbies inside and outside the home. Inside hobbies include baking sweet treats, knitting, crocheting, and crafts of any sort. Outside, she enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens, picking apples off her trees for delicious applesauce, watching all her grandchildren's sporting events, hunting for the big buck, fishing for the biggest catch, riding he Goldwing, and being a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association.

 She is survived by her loving husband Ed, of 55 1/2 years. Their children: Dan (Jennifer), Shawna (John), and Michelle. Her parents, Robert (Diane) Smith, and Patricia Smith, and her brother Tom (Kelly) Smith. Their grandchildren Samantha (Preston) Swayer, Brent (Taylor) Schuetter, Dakota (Taylor) Cogswell, Jadin (Leisel) Cogswell, Hudson (Alexis) Cogswell, Glacier (Joshua) Anthony, Makenna Cogswell, Jiana Cogswell, Brayden Lancour, and Noelle Lancour. Plus, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

Memorials can be made to the Activities Director at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility, St. Francis de Sales School, or the Manistique Senior Center.

Special thanks to the staff at Schooolcraft Memorial Hospital Home Care and Hospice, the many Dr's, nurses, and CNA's that cared for her at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility, along with family and friends.
