Dave Slaski

December 15, 1935 — April 28, 2022

David J. Slaski, 86, of Cecil, beloved husband of 64 years to Kay (Dettinger) Slaski, passed away on April 28, 2022 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

Dave was born on December 15, 1935 in Milwaukee, son of the late Frank and Joanna (Wisniewski) Slaski. He graduated from Pulaski High School. Dave enlisted in the United States Army where he served until his honorable discharge. He worked most of his career installing communication lines for Western Electric until his retirement. When he was younger Dave was a Boy Scout leader and Little League Coach. He enjoyed his motorcycle. Dave was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dave especially enjoyed an adventure he had with his son Pat in Alaska. He enjoyed listening to music in his spare time. Dave's catholic faith and daily devotion of reading the bible was a very important part of his life. He was active at St. Martin's Church, and even served as a part-time custodian in his retirement. He will be most remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Kay and their six children: Joe Slaski, Lisa Miller, Patrick (Renee) Slaski, Brenda (Mike) Grunewald, Tammy Cain, and Davey Slaski. Dave leaves his 14 beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dave leaves two brothers, Ron and Kenny Slaski, along with his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by a sister Kathy Slaski.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 9 AM - 11 AM at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cecil with a Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors to follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in Cecil. Newcomer Cremations Funerals & Receptions of Green Bay has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the American Kidney Foundation.

Dave's family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Theda Care Regional Medical Center for their outstanding compassion and care.
