Darlene S. Moore, age 86, of Green Bay, formerly of Sun Prairie, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. She looked forward to being welcomed into the arms of her Savior. She was born August 11, 1939 in Moorehead, MN, daughter of Carl and Lydia (Ritter) Weber.
Darlene was a graduate of Davenport High School in Davenport, IA. She began her working career at Alcoa. After working at Alcoa, Darlene welcomed her sons, Jay and Jeffrey. She later worked for Oscar Mayer, where she met Jim Moore. Darlene and Jim were married October 29, 1977 in Davenport, IA. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Sun Prairie, WI, where they shared 48 wonderful years together. Recently they moved to Green Bay, WI, to be closer to Jay and his family.
As a young adult she sang in a local country music band and in her church choir. She loved God, and had a great interest in and concern for people. She made people feel special through meaningful conversations, greeting cards, and lots of prayer. She always loved spending time with her family.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Jim; her son, Jay (Shari) Wis; 6 grandchildren: Matthew (Hope), Calla, Benjamin, Christa, Jaclyn and Greta Wise; and 2 great grandsons: Caspian and Callum.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Wise, an infant sister, and her parents.
Her family extends their gratitude for the wonderful care given by the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, Edenbrook Nursing Home, and Unity Hospice of Green Bay.
There will be a celebration of Darlene's life on Friday, May 22 at City Church, 4909 E. Buckeye Rd, in Madison, WI, with visitation at 10:30 a.m., service at 11:30 a.m., and luncheon at 12:15 p.m.. There will also be a celebration of life on Saturday, May 23 at Cunnick-Collins Life Celebration Center, 1200 E. 39th St, Davenport, IA, with visitation at 10:30, service at 11:30 a.m., and luncheon at 12:00 p.m.. She will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA.
