Connie M. Fleigle

May 8, 1948 — January 4, 2023

"This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24.

On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Connie Fleigle (nee Zuleger) passed on to her heavenly home after a courageous duel with cancer. She is survived by her loving family, husband Philip with whom she married on January 4, 1969; they were blessed with sons, Ryon (Jennifer) grandchildren, Hannah Doepke (Mitchell), Ethan and Jack; and Charles (Elizabeth), granddaughter, Taylor Borah (Gage) and great grandchildren, Jaxson and Jayden Borah.

She is survived by brothers, Delbert Zuleger (JoAnne Zellner); Dennis Zuleger (Lisa McHugh); sisters, Audrey Schommer, Barbara Carroll, Marilee Ruh (Darrell); sisters-in law, Mary Enrico, Mitzi Zuleger and Sharon Zuleger. She is further survived by in-laws, Richard Fleigle (Gloria Therien); sisters Patricia (Milton) Ohlinger, Susan Jeske
(Bernie) and Margaret Wendorff (Curt) and many wonderful nieces and nephews that she was blessed to have in her life.

She was preceded in death by parents, Carl and June Zuleger; brothers, Lee Enrico and Kenneth Zuleger; brothers-in-law, Peter Carroll, David Schommer, Eugene Olson; in-laws, Al and Lois Fleigle and sister-in -law, Mary Olson.

Connie spent her formative years on the farm of her adoptive parents, Carl and June Zuleger. She was baptized in June of 1948, reaffirming her baptism with Confirmation of faith in June of 1962 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lessor, WI, where the strong roots of her faith were planted, leading her to be an active participant in church world, teaching Sunday School and confirmation classes while her sons were growing up and served numerous terms on Church Council at Peace Lutheran Church.

Reflecting on her earthly life, she graduated from Bonduel High School in 1966, and along with marriage and motherhood, pursued a career in the field of cosmetology for 20 years. She then pivoted, went back to school, entering the paralegal field, working for the next 30 years in various law offices, finishing her professional career at Schneider National Inc., retiring in March of 2019, thoroughly enjoying the work and people she met along the way.

Never one to shy away from a spirited discussion, political or otherwise, she loved diversity, meeting and working with people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, learning about them, a staunch advocate for equality among all. She was a voracious reader of the many genre of books - any book that was "banned" that she heard about, was added to her library to be read and better understood why it was "banned".

Our family appreciates the supportive prayers of family and friends throughout the medical journey. We also appreciate and thank Dr. Brian Burnette, Alisha Parma, Physician's Assistant, and the extended medical staff at Green Bay Oncology at St. Vincent's Hospital for their untiring and excellent guidance and care through our family's medical journey with them.
