Listen to Obituary

Colleen Ann Maloney passed away on January 5, 2026 at the age of 64, after a battle with pancreatic cancer that lasted for over a year. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rockne and LaVerne Fitzgerald and her brother, Thomas.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Tim, and her beloved son, Greg, who she cherished and adored more than anything in this world. Colleen is also survived by her sister, Kathy (Jeff) Cypinski, her brother, Mike (Jane) Fitzgerald, numerous nieces and nephews, including Linda Kaye and Melanie. She loved them all deeply.

The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate and kind caregivers of Aurora Hospital, particularly Dr. Karkera and the entire nursing staff. They all gave 100% effort in their involvement and sincere concern, while providing the best care for Colleen during the entire treatment phase.

As end-of-life treatment approached, we would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Moments Hospice. Nurses Tammy and Danielle were extraordinary and Colleen loved them as caregivers and friends. They truly were her Angels as her last days approached.

Colleen had a deep Faith in God, her family and humanity. These traits resonated from her daily, and the result was an accumulation of many people who became her friends and loved her deeply. This would include lifelong friends like Mike and Annie Thomson (and their entire family), Renee St. Laurent, Tammy and Brian, Greg and Janice, Jim Drootsan, Matt and SueAnn, Sarah Parrera, special friend, Cindy, and Todd and Allison. I'm sorry I can't list everyone because, to be honest, the list would be endless. Colleen could talk to anyone, and within minutes, they would call her a friend. I know too many names have been missed, but you know who you are and that is all that matters.

As her husband and friend for 50 years, I will just say that I thank God that He brought Colleen into my life. It would take a thousand pages to explain why. Rest in peace "Bear," you're in Heaven now. You have earned the right to be in Paradise for eternity. I Love You.

In lieu of a ceremony, Colleen expressed her wish to have a Celebration of Life at a later date, which her family will announce in the future. God Bless you all.
