Clarence A. "Shep" Petasek, 89, of De Pere, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born August 12, 1936, in the Town of Eaton to Frank and Bernice Petasek.
Shep married Joyce Hansen on June 1, 1968, and together they raised two daughters. In 1954, Shep joined the Navy, dedicating eight years to serving his country. During his service, he traveled the world aboard ships like the USS Paul Revere, USS Hamul, and USS Prairie, where he honed his skills in lithography. He earned two Good Conduct Medals and fondly recalled his time in the military. After leaving the service, Shep worked in the printing industry, including many years at Reliance Printing Company and later Brown County Graphics, retiring in 2001.
Shep had a love for tracing his Polish heritage, watching classic military and western films, going to the casino, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. Known for his organization, problem-solving skills, hard work, and great sense of humor, he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his daughters Margret Schwartz and Tammy Bishop; grandson Gary (Amanda) DeChamps; granddaughter Lisa Bishop; sister Ethel Helgerson; sisters-in-law Clarice and Clara Petasek; his beloved cats Sally and Linus; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
