Chiyo Westcott, age 95, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away on June 24, 2026.
Chiyo was born on September 15, 1930, in Okinawa, Japan, to Gashin and Kame Tokeshi. She carried with her the values of hard work, kindness, and quiet generosity throughout her life.
After coming to the United States, Chiyo became a well-known and hardworking member of the Green Bay community. Over the years, she was employed at several local establishments, including The Steak Joint Mariner Motel, Diana Manufacturing, Allouez Café, and the Oneida Casino. Her dedication and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of working alongside her.
Chiyo found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She especially enjoyed visiting the area’s casinos, where she could relax and have fun. She also had a warm and playful spirit, often delighting family dogs with treats and affection, a small but meaningful reflection of her caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph “Skip” Westcott.
Chiyo is lovingly remembered by her sons and their families: Jerry and Charlotte Westcott; John Westcott and Tami Carter; and Jack Westcott and Minoka Hill. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Unity Hospice and St. Vincent 9th floor for their guidance, kindness, and compassionate care during Moms final days.
Chiyo will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in De Pere, Wisconsin.
