Catherine “Katie” Emily Steinman, 87, of Green Bay, passed away on April 22, 2026, at Woodside Lutheran Home, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born on November 23, 1938, in Luxemburg, Wisconsin, to Edward and Anna (Anderle) Slatky.

Katie graduated from Denmark High School with the Class of 1956. Throughout her career, she worked as an administrative assistant at several companies, mostly in the financial industry.

On November 11, 1967, she married William “Bill” Steinman at All Saints Church in Denmark. The couple first connected while working for the Morley-Murphy Company in different cities, building their relationship through phone conversations. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage before Bill’s passing on January 26, 2017.

Katie was a devoted member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish in Green Bay. In 1982, she was a founding member of the Nativity Women’s Guild and proudly served as its first president. She was also an active member of the parish choir and the Warblers at Woodside Oaks.

Katie and Bill were known for their warmth, generosity, and love of hosting. Their home was always open to family and friends. Many cherished memories were made at their Christmas celebrations, complete with handmade cookies, candies, and an elaborate Dickens Village display. They were also known for their lively booyah parties, hosting team gatherings for the Green Bay Gamblers, participating in a cribbage club, and enjoying round robin gatherings with friends. As proud residents of Ashwaubenon, they spent many summers camping with their daughters and friends at Peninsula and Jellystone Parks.

Katie is survived by her loving daughters, Robyn Caudell and Stacy (Brad) Wallace; her grandchildren, Scot, Maxwell, and Valerie; and her sister, Mary Anne Butscher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Steinman; her parents, Edward and Anna Slatky; her brother in law, Tom Butscher and her nephew, Joe Butscher.

Katie’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the Warpinski family, Woodside Oaks Community, Unity Hospice, the Lins family, and her special friend, Judy Schroeder, for their care and support.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Nativity of Our Lord Parish (2270 S Oneida St, Green Bay, WI), from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Fr.
