Betty Ann Peot, age 84, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Bellin Hospital, with family at her side. She was born November 14, 1941 in Wausau, WI, daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth (LaSavage) Breunig. She was a proud graduate of West De Pere High School.
Betty worked as a support to the pathology department for Bellin Hospital for many dedicated years. She also worked in the front office at West De Pere High School for several years. Betty was united in marriage to James "Jim" Peot, August 12, 1970 at Old St. Joe's Catholic Church, De Pere. They were married 48 blessed years before Jim passed away December 9, 2019.
Betty and Jim embraced the roles as aunt and uncle, caring for their nieces and nephews as their own children. She had a special horse, Bagsin, who she took great pride in, traveling and showing him in horse shows in South Dakota and Wisconsin. One of her favorite past times was cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Her greatest joy was spending time in Door County with Jim almost every weekend.
Betty Ann is survived by her siblings: Thomas (Janet) Breunig (their children, Darren and Brenda), Linda Simms (her sons, Scott (Tammy) Davies and Dean Davies) and William "Bill" Bernetzke (his children: Beth, Bill Jr. and Paul Bernetzke); brother-in-law, Joseph "Joe" (Barbara) Peot (their children: Jason (Deborah) Peot, Lisa Seidel, Sarah (Chris) Olsen, Marcia (Joel) Murray), Joe and Barb's grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ronald Lindsley and sister-in-law, Carol Hilbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim and sister-in-law, Jean Lindsley.
Visitation will be held at St. Agnes Parish (1484 9th St., Green Bay, WI), Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 9 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr. Quinn Mann, celebrant. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to St. Agnes Parish in Betty Ann's name are appreciated.
Betty Ann's family would like to extend their gratitude to the ER staff at Emplify (Bellin) for their care and compassion.
