Bernie Gillis

Margaret "Bernie" Bernadine Gillis, age 71, of Pembine, passed away on June 23, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Bernie was born on September 17, 1953 as one of twelve children to Lyle and Margaret (Neighbauer) Aldrich in Stevens Point, WI. The family moved to the Milwaukee area when Bernie was about 4 years old. She would later move north where she met the love of her life, Thomas Gillis. The couple was united in marriage on November 6, 1993. Bernie and Tom spent 31 wonderful years together in Pembine, where they spent time together riding, golfing, gardening, playing bingo, and spending time with their family.

Bernie is survived by her loving husband, Tom, her 3 children; Nikki (Craig) Leitzke, Suzette Martin, and John (Paige) Jossart, her 8 grandchildren and their spouses; Caitlyn, Tyler, Sabrina Deene, Saije, Savannah, Shyann, Austin, and Dakota, and her 6 great-grandchildren; Auroura, Tegan, Emmett, Elliott, Ashton, and Sawyer. She is further survived by her siblings, her nieces, her nephews, her cousins, and her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Margaret, and two sisters.

Bernie's wishes were that there are no formal services.
