Barbara Wimmer Anderson

July 5, 1953 — June 8, 2024

Barbara Wimmer Anderson, age 70, of Ashwaubenon, passed away on June 8, 2024 surrounded by her children.

She was born on July 5, 1953 to Perry and Marcella (Heslar) Wimmer in Clinton, Indiana, and was the youngest of four daughters. Barbara was a gifted student. After graduating from Rockville High School in 1971, she attended Butler University where she received her B.A. in Fine Art, and later her M.A. in English. While at Butler she was a proud member of Delta Gamma sorority. It was here she met her future husband, Terry Anderson, to whom she was married for many years. Barbara and Terry were gifted with four children, who they raised in De Pere, Wisconsin.

Barbara was a proud educator and artist. Her passions included: painting, drawing, photography, poetry, and reading. She was a lifelong student of the arts, and believed art made the world a better place. Barbara was open minded and spiritual, and surrounded herself with things that brought her meaning and purpose. In her free time, she enjoyed attending events at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens, listening to her favorite music, taking art classes, and sharing her hobbies with her children and granddaughters.

Barbara is survived by her loving children; Jenifer (Eric) Anderson - Reno, Bradley (Cindy) Anderson, Hadley Anderson, and Hanna (James Geiss) Anderson, her two granddaughters; Nora and Maya Anderson, and her dear sister; Anne Rosenberg. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, two sisters; Carole Wimmer and Marilyn Hawkins, and her beloved dog, Jovi.
