Arthur W. Foster

Arthur William Justin Foster, 90, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. Born on June 15, 1936, on the island of Grenada in the Caribbean, Arthur lived a life defined by adventure, skill, and an unmistakable charm that touched everyone who knew him.

Arthur was a pilot for the whole of his working life, taking to the skies over some of the most remote and demanding corners of the world - from the deserts of Libya to the jungles of Malaysia, and throughout his beloved Caribbean. His talent and dedication carried him to the very top of his profession: he became Managing Director of LIAT (Leeward Islands Air Transport), a position he held with distinction for over 10 years. At the age of 55, Arthur retired from aviation to pursue a new passion - golf - which he enjoyed for the rest of his life.

Those who knew Arthur remember him for his magnetic smile, his handsome good looks, and his effortless charm. He was, above all, a true gentleman - someone who was always there when you needed him. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Arthur is survived by his son, Wayne Foster, and his three grandchildren: Benjamin Foster (17), Owen Foster (16), and Abigail Foster (14).

He also leaves behind his brothers, Junior, Georgie, Stephen, and Peter; his sisters, Michelle, Anne, Jackie, and Kim; and, on his father's side, his sisters Cheryl and Elaine.

Arthur was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie; his stepfather, Glynn; his father, Dudley; and his sister, Margaret.

Arthur's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
