Aleta Cornelius

May 19, 1953 — June 17, 2023

On Saturday June 17, after battling bladder cancer Aleta passed away peacefully, surrounded by love.

At Larsen's canning in 1971, Aleta met a man named Jody. Just 5 short months later, on March 4, 1972, they would be wed and their 51 year journey began. After being told by Dr's that she was unable to have children, together Jody and Aleta raised a family of 7 children of their own while also becoming step mom to Jody's older daughters later.

Aleta will always be remembered for what an amazingly kind heart she always had. She always helped anyone who needed a hand up and she always made sure that the people in her life understood that her love truly had no conditions or bounds. She was the Auntie everyone called for advice, the Grandma who was more like a Mom, the Mom that could handle everything, and the only Wife that Dad could ever imagine having, from the day they met.

Aleta was preceded in death by her Mother and Father in law, Lois and Norrin (Joe) Cornelius, Brothers, Norrin (Fred) Cornelius, and, Neil Cornelius, Sister Dotty Cornelius, Step Daughter Melissa Griego, and her son in law Brendan Dutch.

She is survived by her Husband Jody Cornelius, children Bobbie Jo (Jason) Raymond, Jessica Cornelius, Jeremy Cornelius, Tonya Dutch, Marla Vannieuwenhoven, Sherri Cornelius, Jason Cornelius, and Kristy Cornelius.
She is further survived by 21 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brother and sisters in laws, many many nieces and nephews who she held very dear to her heart and sweet friends she made along the way.

Her impact on our world was far more beautiful than words will ever do justice.

We were fortunate enough to have had the chance to have her celebration of life WITH her on her 70th birthday and she did not want a funeral service. The family has a private event planned in her honor.
