Effie A. Smith, 100, of Green Bay, WI passed away on July 16, 2019. She was born on November 11, 1918 to the late John and Bertha (Young) Steffens in Coleman, WI. She was a West High Graduate. In July of 1949, Effie married Wendell Smith at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked at Mill Print for 29 years before retiring in 1982.

Effie enjoyed traveling all over the country, especially to Michigan where some of her family resides. She loved going out and listening to bands in the parks in Green Bay. She was also a big fan of cooking.

Effie is survived by her niece Barb Clark and her family, nephew Joe Angst and his family, nieces and nephews of the Steffens family, as well as the many friends she has made throughout her years at Santa Maria Nursing Home. Along with her parents and husband Wendell, she was preceded in death by three brothers: John Jr., Joseph, and Louis Steffens; four sisters: Emma Rabideau, Lillian Tuyls, Alice Steffens, and Amelia.

The family would like to thank the staff at Santa Maria Nursing Home, Green Bay Health Services, and Compassus- Green Bay Hospice for their undivided attention and care given to Effie throughout the years.

A private service will be held at a later date.
