In Memory Of
Peter John Kornowski
1950 - 2018

Peter John Kornowski, age 68, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, September 13, 2018. He was born September 2, 1950 in Green Bay, WI, son of the late Richard and Carol (Raaths) Kornowski and was a graduate of Green Bay Southwest High School, Class of 1968.

After high school graduation, Peter attended NWTC and studied computer programming. Shortly thereafter, Peter started a family and was blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Jamie and Jessie. Peter met the love of his life, Karen Jones in 1978 and they were inseparable for the last 40 years. Petey and Karen shared a home, business, family and many adventures in life. Together they started a business from the ground up, Kornowski Repair Service, with Peter repairing the appliances and Karen managing day to day operations.

Peter had a naturally inquisitive nature and was always inventing and tinkering. It was not unusual to come into his home and see different projects, experiments and trinkets lying around the house in various places. He even invented a machine to make Renaissance chainmail. Peter and Karen shared a love of traveling and enjoyed many vacations including Jamaica, Mexico and St. Lucia. It wasn't uncommon for them to jump in the car and take a spur of the moment car ride to explore the country. He had a unique and candid sense of humor; conversations were often robust and lively relating to political and social topics. Peter was a proud grandpa to his 3 handsome and bright grandsons: Mitchell, Luke and Jack. Although Peter was a private person, he had a great deal of love and generosity for those within his close circle of friends and family. If he was your friend, there was nothing Peter would not do for you. Peter was the "original non-conformist" and a free spirit. He truly did it his way until the end.

Peter is forever loved and dearly missed by his loving partner of 40 years, Karen Jones; his daughters, Jamie Carothers and Jessie LaRock; 3 grandsons: Mitchell, Luke and Jack; step-son, Bryan Jones; close friends: Ron, Brad and his fishing buddies.

He was preceded in death by his friend, Jerry Fournier and special canine companion "Reggie the dog."

Peter will be laid to rest at Fort Howard Memorial Park (1350 N. Military Ave., Green Bay), Friday, September 21, 2018 at 1 PM.

As Peter would say, "It was fun. Thanks. Bye."
