Mike Larscheid
1944 - 2017

Mike Larscheid, 73, of Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Michael was the son of the late Lloyd and Geraldine (Solper) Larscheid and was a graduate of Premontre High School.

Mike married Ann (Centen) Deprey, August 8, 2006 in Green Bay and together they shared 12 years of marriage and many adventures. A shared loved of music, reading, travel, movies and family brought Mike and Ann together and sustained their relationship.

Music and family were Mike's life. Mike was a bass player in several local and national bands throughout his career as a musician. His musical talents brought Larsch to California and Washington State during the Haight-Ashbury days.

Eventually he returned to Green Bay and continued as a musician and also began a second career as a maintenance engineer for the Green Bay Public Schools. He truly embraced his work within the schools and served as a mentor to the children and even started up a Ukulele band as well as an after-school reading club for 5th graders. Mike went above and beyond his duties to foster caring friendships with the students and will be fondly remembered for his care and commitment to the children.

Mike was a passionate musician, loving and devoted husband and proud grandpa and his zest for life will be dearly missed.

Mike is survived by his wife, Ann; 5 sons: Michael (Pam), Craig (Michelle), John (Heidi), Aaron (Tara) and Grant (Brittany) Larscheid; step-son, Nate (Cole) Deprey; step-daughter, Genna (special friend, Steven Cohen) Deprey; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 5 sisters: Cheryl (Steven) Roznoski, Linda (Rick) Schwader, Christine (Rick) Charles, Vic (Daniel) Bennett and Kim Larscheid. He is further survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Alice Larscheid, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and fellow musicians.

A gathering of family, friends and fellow musicians will be held at THE LYRIC ROOM (231 N. Broadway St., Green Bay) Monday, September 18, 2017 from 5 to 9 PM. Newcomer Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mike's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for their exceptional care and support as well as Unity Hospice for their care of Mike during his final days.
