Beverly Ann Dombrowski
1953 - 2016

Beverly Ann Dombrowski, 62, Houston, TX (formerly of Pulaski, WI) met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, April 9 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Beverly Dombrowski, the oldest of seven children, was born August 27, 1953 to Edwin and Bernadine Smith-Dombrowski. Bev was a 1971 graduate of Pulaski High School and 1974 graduate of American Beauty College, Green Bay.

After her graduation, as a cosmetologist, Bev embarked on a management career with major beauty companies: Seligman & Latz (HC Pranges), Glemby International (Boston Stores-Milwaukee, WI) and Consolidated Beauty Services, pioneering the walk-in precision haircut shops in department stores and shopping centers.

Her next endeavor came out of an extraordinary belief in natural hair care just as Aveda began their launch in 1979. Bev was in immediate partnership with the concept and vision of Horst Rechelbacher, founder of Aveda, to initiate the first Aveda Concept Salon in the South. Traveling and training with Horst in the very early days of Aveda was the training ground she needed to prepare the groundwork for her own line of hair care products. With her father's entrepreneurial training, a background in farming, growing foods and flowers, roots in French tradition from her grandmother and joyfulness learned from her mother, Beverly was dedicated to the study and practice of cleansing and healing, as well as business and personal development to stage her very own BeverlyD Luxe Organic Hair Care Product line in 2004. These products will continue to be sold at BeverlyD.com.

Beverly's expertise in hair health, design, color and energetic well-being created infinite looks for those who require minimal upkeep and maintenance. Beverly believed that everyone has a dream for their hair and she could achieve it using simple basic principles coupled with food and plant ingredients that nurture and allow the hair to be what it was meant to be.

BeverlyD's clientele were far reaching and her fans hailed from all over the world including actresses, socialites, business leaders, royalty and musicians. One of her most prominent clients was Arianna Huffington, founder of the Huffington Post, for which BeverlyD was a contributor. Beverly also freelanced for many hair trade magazines and was featured on the Good Morning, Houston Show several times.

In 2014, BeverlyD released her first book HAIR NOW-Seven Devotions for Hair Enlivenment in which she proves your hair is alive!

BeverlyD enjoyed touring and traveled the world. She enjoyed speaking and sharing with audiences. She presented her new concepts in hair health and healing through an event called the BeverlyD Hair Party.

Beverly loved the stage and performed on stage in Houston and NYC in Comedy Variety Shows as well as her one-woman shows. She was also part of a singing trio called "Little Black Dresses." Karaoke was her passion!

Beverly is survived by her mother, Bernadine Dombrowski; sister, Connie and Steve Lohuis (Danielle and grandson, Euan); sister, Deborah Calza (Cole, Oliver and Jacqueline); brother, Edwin Jr. (Emily); brother, Fred and Pam Dombrowski (Alyssa, Jayme and Preston Zimmerman and grandchildren: Tenley, Clayton and Asher Zimmerman); sister, Gail and Timothy Blohowiak (Ben and Carrie, Tymberlyn and Adam Frischkorn , Lydia, Jonah); Harvey's children: Matthew, Mitchell and Mandy; godmother, Aurelia Lasecki and special friend, David Kubiak. Bev’s nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart and she was always there for them like a second mother.

Beverly was preceded in death by her father Edwin Dombrowski, Sr. (4/24/89); her brother, Harvey Dombrowski (8/16/2000) and godfather, Julius Dombrowski

The family of Beverly Dombrowski has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of Beverly's friends worldwide and the kindness, prayers and generous support of family and friends. God bless you all!
