She loved gambling, playing cards and board games, putting puzzles together and when she was younger camping with her mom and dad. Annette dedicated 11 years of her career to serving the Oneida Nation in a variety of jobs including Accounting Supervisor, Retail Management, Slot Technician, retiring in 2004. She also had a great sense of humor, she enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh.

She is further survived by her great-nieces, Santierra, Secquoia, and Tamiaya. She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Herman J. Melchert; her parents, Kenneth & Elaine Cornelius; siblings, Harvey, Sylvia, Karen, Geraldine, Darlene, Pamela and two infant brothers and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
