Joel Steven Henselin, a child of the risen Lord, was born on July 8th, 2011 to his parents, Hannah and Karl Henselin. He and his older brother Isaiah shared the love of their parents with several foster children, and gratefully welcomed Lena, Zachary, and Merci into their home through adoption.

Joel was adventurous, creative, independent and intelligent. He authored and illustrated a number of children's books and created numerous board games and toys with paper, cardboard, and a 3d printer. He liked sports, loved to play creative games with anyone available, and also truly enjoyed being on his own with his ideas, drawings and projects.

He attended St. Mark Church in Green Bay, where he recently completed his confirmation studies and was heading for his Profession of Faith Day. Joel attended Spring Lake Youth Group where he made several close friends. He was homeschooled and attended Classical Conversations on Wednesdays where his joy and faith continued to blossom. He played football for the Allouez Buccaneers and basketball for the NEWCHAA Eagles.

Joel leaves behind his parents and grandparents, two great-grandmothers, and 4 siblings, Isaiah, Lena, Zachary, and Merci. We may weep, but we are confident in the bodily resurrection, and that we will see him again. We rejoice that he has gone ahead of us to “eternal pleasures at Your right hand.”

Visitation will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church (2066 Lawrence Dr., De Pere, WI), Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visiting hours on Thursday at 7PM. Visitation will continue at the church, Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM, with Pastor John Parlow officiating. To view the livestream of the funeral service Joel Henselin - Funeral Service

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
