Angelo D. Cali Life story video
Angelo D. Cali, age 81, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, January 16, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born July 22, 1941 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Anthony and Hazel (Wishover) Cali and was a graduate of Lane Tech High School, Chicago, IL, Class of 1959.

After graduation, Angelo enlisted in the US Air Force, proudly serving his country, stationed in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1964. While serving in the Air Force, Angelo married the love of his life, Ruth Soumis, September 15, 1962. They were married 59 years before Ruth passed away in 2021. The family moved to Green Bay in 1965, where Angelo began a career at FMC (formerly Hudson Sharp). He was employed as a machinist for FMC for 36 years, retiring in 2000.

Angelo was very active in his community as a member of Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, American Legion and Rod & Gun Club. He was also a very active member of SS. Peter & Paul Parish, serving as an usher and volunteering for their fund raising activities.

Angelo and Ruth spent their retired years traveling together. They enjoyed trips to Europe, Australia, the Caribbean traveled throughout the entire United States. He loved trips to the casino and his monthly luncheons with his buddies. After Ruth passed away, Angelo embraced his life at New Perspectives, becoming involved in all of their activities, especially with his new special friend, Sandy De France.

Angelo is survived by his children: Thomas Cali, Maria (Kenny) Polly and Angela (Russ) Vanrite; 5 grandchildren: Erin, Ashley, Emily, Kyle and Grace; 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Ken (Pat) Cali.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth and a son, William Cali.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 2 to 4 PM. A memorial service will follow at 4 PM with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or NEW Zoo in Angelo's name are appreciated.

Angelo's family would like to extend their gratitude to Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, New Perspectives and Moments Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
