James W. Jepson Life story video
James W. Jepson, 83, of Suamico beloved husband of 30 years to Shirley (Nickels) Jepson, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family who were blessed to take care of him on his final journey.

Jim was born on October 16, 1938 in Green Bay son of the late Hiram and Lola (Richardson) Jepson. He graduated Class of 1956 from Green Bay West High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Infantry. In 1959 he married Janice Boutott and they raised three children together. He later married Shirley Nickels on December 31, 1991 and the family grew larger as he gained another three children. He began his career at Liebman Packing, and later Gold Bond Ice Cream, Voss Electric, and most recently retired in 2010 from Kadant Gran Tek as a Maintenance Supervisor. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, boating, waterskiing, and fishing. He loved to tinker in his garage, watching old westerns with "garage talk" and flowing beer. He was known for his Booyah and hamburger making for the many events of family and church. In early years he enjoyed participating in the Soap Box Derby and later helped his son Mark build his own. Jim was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, who loved both tailgating, attending and watching games. He was a season ticket holder since the new stadium was built. Jim was a story teller and was known for his jokes, some tasteful..... some not so much. Jim will be remembered for his unconditional love and generosity. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all he knew.

He is survived by his wife Shirley and six children: Lisa (Jim) Sharkey, Lori (Mike) Frederick, Mark (Janet) Jepson, Renee (Joe) Anthony, Kim Smith and Brian Kaczrouske. He also leave 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and one on the way! Jim leaves the mother of his children, Janice Nelson, along with his siblings: Joanne Quimby, Arlene Hanrahan, Tom (Diane) Jepson, Mike (Sue) Jepson, and Pat Jepson. Jim also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, his beloved dogs Ricco and Jesse and many special friends. He is preceded in death by a sister Lola Jane (Frank) Topel, and brother-in-laws, Dave Quimby, John Hanrahan, along with his dogs Misty, Sassy and Harley.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12th from 1 PM - 4 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A funeral service with full military honors will follow at 4 PM in the funeral home. Entombment will be Fort Howard Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Jim's family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Fuchs, and the staff of Unity Hospice and his nurse Erin for the compassionate care given to him.
