Melvin D Phillip, age 90, of Green Bay passed away on November 17, 2021.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday December 3, 2021 at Nativity Parish, 2270 S. Oneida Street Green Bay. Friends and family may gather at 3p.m. at Nativity to share memories.

Melvin was born December 13, 1930 in Stevens Point, WI. He was the son of Albert and Margaret Phillip. He graduated from PJ Jacobs High School. Following in his brother’s footsteps, he joined the Military, and served 4 years in The United States Air Force.

In 1963 he married Diana Kropidlowski from Amherst Junction. They settled in Green Bay in1966.

Melvin was an electronic technician for the FAA for 32 years. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol and loved flying. He was also a member of the American Legion, EAA Chapter, loved to sing with the Baylander Barbershop Chorus and was a longtime usher at Nativity Parish.

Melvin was so much fun, all the time! He enjoyed most everything and was usually the life of the party. He loved music, singing karaoke, camp fires-especially at Camp 1, popcorn, fishing, drawing trees, taking hikes, dogs, telling jokes and most of all spending time with his family.

Alex, Kassie and Max, his grandchildren, were extremely blessed to have him present for so much of their lives and will be forever grateful for the sense of humor, adventure and love of music that he shared with them.

He is survived by his wife Diana and his only sister Dorothy (John) Piatt.

His children, David Phillip-Rhinelander (Kendra Glebke), Ann Passamoni-Green Bay (Phil), Jean Renard-Green Bay (Rick) and Daniel Phillip-Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brothers, Gerald, Don, George, Albert Jr., Maurice and Raymond.

His family would like to thank Unity Hospice, Kewaunee Health Center, Patti, his VA nurse and the Talk of the Town for all the jam sessions.
