Robin “Rob” T. Markiewicz, 25, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Hampton, Virginia. Rob was born February 10, 1994 the son of David and SanDee (Whitcomb) Markiewicz. Rob grew up in Green Bay and was a 2012 graduate of Bay Port High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and became an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. During his six years of service, he received numerous awards for his performance, bravery, and character. He was deployed to Kuwait and continued to serve his country abroad before returning to his station at Langley AFB. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant prior to leaving the military in 2018. Following his departure, Rob became a Training Coordinator at Rigid Tactical where his co-workers became family.

Rob will be fondly remembered as an outdoor enthusiast and good friend to many people. He cherished his time in the north woods with his family and friends where he enjoyed making many special hunting memories. He also held a special place in his heart for rescuing special needs and senior dogs. Rob always had a smile on his face and loved to make others laugh. His sense of adventure, curiosity, and intelligence were fueled by his military career. He was proud to serve his country and his patriotism will not be forgotten.

Rob is survived by his parents David and SanDee Markiewicz; brothers Travis (Amanda), Trandon (Amanda), Taylor (Tiffany), Ty, and Nyles; sister Lizzy (Jordon); niece Hartley and nephew Emerson. Rob will also be fondly remembered by his maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, military family and best friends, Tanner Buchanan and Zach Baier. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and sister, Shannon.

Memorial donations may be made to the 4th H.O.O.A.H Wisconsin, the EOD Warrior Foundation, or Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary in memory of Rob.
