Charles enlisted in the US Coast Guard at the age of 17 and proudly served his country for over 20 years until his honorable discharge and retirement as Chief BMC in 1968. He continued his career as a mechanic until retirement. Working on cars was one of his great pleasures.
Charles married Teresa Giaquinto, March 30, 1963 in New York and they shared 55 loving years together.
Charles is survived by his wife, Teresa; 3 daughters: Carol (Jim) De Franceschi, MI, Linda (Ray Jr.) Maze, WI and Tristan (Sarah) MacLeod, WI; 2 sons, Lance Mason, NY and Francis Mason, NY; 7 grandchildren: Keith (Kelly) Bardouche, MI, Kandis Kinder, MI, Kirk Bardouche, MI, Ray Maze III, WI, Cynthia Furru, WI, Kevin (Kari) Speich, WI and Michelle Mason, NV; 3 great-grandsons: Brandon, Alex and Anthony; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Matthew and Mia and 2 sisters, Barbara Brackett, OK and Betty Lee, TX. He is further survived by a daugther-in-law, Ginny Speich and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his a son, Richard Speich; his parents, in-laws, Donald and Nicoletta Giaquinto, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Charles' name.
