Richard John Lamal, 86, of Bellevue, took his final train ride down the tracks to God's Kingdom on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at his home with his family at his side.

Dick was born on June 22, 1932 in Green Bay son of the late James and Catherine (Toonen) Lamal. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. At the young age of 16 he met his future wife Betty at a dance at Red Banks Pavillion. In his teenage years he worked for Bosses News Depot. Dick enlisted in the Air Force and served his country for 4 years. During his enlistment he served two years in Azores Islands and two in Yuma, Arizona. While in the Air Force he married the love of his life Betty VanLaanen. After being honorably discharged they returned to Green Bay and he went to work for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. He served over 30 years with the railroad until his retirement.

In his spare time Dick enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and loved NASCAR racing. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, he and Betty were season ticket holders when Lambeau Field was built. Dick enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Clark Lake with his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years Betty, and their children: Bob (Jo) Lamal, Karen (Dan) Lefebvre, and Scott Lamal. He also leaves a brother, James (Merle) Lamal, and a sister, Suzanne (Tom) Vandelist, along with seven grandchildren: Dusty (Ashley) Lamal, Bobbi (Nate) Nowaczyk, Becky (James) Pfeiffer, Jenny (Dale) Peters, Rick (Julie) Lefebvre, Raquel (Chris Klarich) Lamal, and Alisa Lamal. He also leaves ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12th from 4 PM - 7 PM at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Avenue. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home. Interment will in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

Dick's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Unity Hospice for the wonderful care given to him, which allowed him to stay at home in his final days.
