In Memory Of
Violet M. "Vi" Johnson
1934 - 2018

Violet M. Johnson "Vi", age 84, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 15, 2018. She was born February 8, 1934 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Francis and Agnes (Perrot) Roskom, and was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1953.

She married Dennis Johnson, August 27, 1959 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. They shared 59 loving years of marriage.

Vi started working at Mednikow's Grocery Store as a checkout girl until their children were born. After 12 years of being a full-time mother, she worked for Konop Vending as a hostess at Schreiber's Cheese for many years until her retirement.

Over 25 years were enjoyed at their cottage in Crivitz and later at their trailer at Popp's Resort. One of her favorite things were the many pontoon rides on the flowage. It was always so peaceful and beautiful. They enjoyed many good times there with many great friends.

Vi also enjoyed lots of talking and walking in the water with her friends, Donna, Shirley, Dee, Ann B. and Ann G. at the CP Center.

Vi leaves behind and will sadly be missed by her loving husband, Denny; 2 wonderful children, Steven (Karen) Johnson and Sandra (Thomas) Scully; 4 grandchildren: Bradley Johnson, Kayla (Brandon) Wasielewski, McKenzie (fiancee, Tyler Zima) Johnson and Joseph (special friend, Marina Rebellato) Scully. Vi was also blessed with a very special great-granddaughter, Remy Wasielewski. She is further survived by her sisters, Pat Mead and Carol (Jack) Schweiner, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She loved them all so much.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Van Laanen; brothers-in-law, Don Van Laanen and Eugene Mead and nephews, Scott Johnson and Craig Van Laanen.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7 PM.
