Valerie J. (Schoen) Schaefer, age 53, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was born April 21,1965 in Green Bay, daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Woitula) Schoen.

Valerie attended St. Philip Grade School and graduated with high honors from Preble High School. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from UW-GB. Valerie married her soulmate, Michael Schaefer, September 11, 1989. He passed away July 11, 2011.

Valerie had a great love for animals and provided homes for many rescued pets. She enjoyed all sports and spending time at her cottage up north.

Valerie is survived by her parents, Earl and Evelyn Schoen; her brothers, David (Marion) and James Schoen; her sister, Victoria (Daniel) VanEgeren; nieces and nephews; her late husband's parents, Dennis and Kathy Schaefer (their 2 daughters, Denise and Sue.)

Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM. A memorial service will follow at 7 PM.
