In Memory Of
Robert "Bob" Walber
1936 - 2018

Robert "Bob" Walber, age 81, of Green Bay, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at a local nursing home. He was born November 4, 1936 in Calumet Co., WI, son of the late Joseph and Anna Marie (Stransky) Walber and graduated from high school in New Holstein, WI.

Bob married Betty Pfister at a special service in Las Vegas in February of 2002. Together Betty and Bob spent many wonderful hours together with family at the lake property on Lake Lucerne. Bob was a proud part-owner of Reliable Sweep & Lawn Care, which he founded in 1989, along with Betty. He operated the business until he suffered a stroke in 2002. Through the stroke, Bob met many wonderful people who fully impacted his life with their care and support. His caregivers became part of the family. Bob was a former lieutenant with the lake shore Kiwanis Club and was active with the Kiwanis for 20 years.

Bob enjoyed being outdoors and is known as the "chipmunk whisperer." He had a special knack for drawing in and training chipmunks with peanuts. They would crawl up into his pocket to eat. He even named one of them "Nancy," after one of his caregivers. Jan Campbell was also very special to Bob and spent many dedicated hours with Bob's physical therapy and helping to encourage him through his many rehabilitative efforts.

Bob is survived by his wife of 16 years, Betty; his sister, Joyce (the late Dennis) Vissers; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Walber; his step-children, Nannette (Tony) Gutierrez and their children, Anya and Marita (John Houts III) Gutierrez and Matthew Pfister and his children, Trevon Cline and Brennan Crone; his children: Debbie (Larry) Borcherding, Steve (Julie) Walber, Peggy (Mickey) Kaiser and Jeff (Theresa) Walber; 10 grandchildren: Rebecca, Noelle, Gabrialle and Isabelle, Samuel and Claire, Taylor and Carley and Quinton and Jade; great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Les, Emil, Clifford, Don and Lloyd.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 1 to 3 PM. A memorial service will follow at 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Kiwanis Division #7 of Kiel, WI in Bob's name are appreciated.

Bob's family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Mary's/St. Vincent Home Health, ManorCare West and all of his caregivers throughout the years for their amazing care, friendship and support.
