I’ve gone to sew for the angels.

Vivian M. Ebel, passed away August 7, 2018. She was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota on May 9, 1928 to Kurt and Ruth Hartwig. Vivian was married to Harold W. Ebel at Grace Lutheran Church in Peoria, Illinios, March 31, 1952. He preceded her in death September 19, 1973.

She enjoyed sewing and it became her lifelong career, working at Singers, H.C. Pranges, The Vogue Dress Shop and Siefert’s. Lastly, she did sewing in her home. Many, many people were recipients of her skill. One of her proudest moments was making her eldest granddaughter’s wedding dress and her youngest granddaughter’s baptism and first communion dresses. She also loved to knit and crochet. When she sat, she always had knitting needles or a crochet hook in her hands.

She would like to thank Father George for all his prayers over the years.

She is survived by her four sons, Richard (Sue) Johnson of Iowa. Michael (Nancy Cygan), and his three daughters: Michelle (Bryan) Smith, Trisha (Heather) Ebel, and Erika Ebel. Jeffrey (Dana) Ebel of Texas, and their children Jeffrey, Kyle, Josh, and Michael Bouchard. Paul (Heather) Ebel, and their children RaeAnna (Nick) Schmidt, Alexa (Hayden) and Jordan Roskom. Her son Carl’s children Haylee Reif, Jeremy Johnson, and Eric Johnson, of Iowa and also many great-grandchildren and one great great- grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold (1973), and one son, Carl Johnson (1999), one brother and two sisters.

Her wishes were no visitation or service and to be buried next to her husband at Lakeview Cemetery, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.

Vivian's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to, Care for All Ages Assisted Living, Manor Care West, and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care given to her.
