Ida J. VandenLangenberg
1937 - 2018

Ida Jane (Peterson) VandenLangenberg, age 81, of Allouez, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Patient Pines Assisted Living after enduring a 12 year struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born on March 11, 1937, to the late Charles & Theresa (Micke) Peterson, in Sherwood, WI and grew up in Kaukauna.

Ida graduated from Kaukauna High School class of 1955. After graduation, she attended Milwaukee Accredited School of Beauty Culture.
She then met the man of her dreams, Raphael "Ray" VandenLangenberg. They were married on April 21, 1956 at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna.
Ida dedicated her life to raising her five children. Later she joined the worked force as a receptionist at St. Mary's Hospital for 16 years.

Ida "Sweet as Apple Cider" was a one of a kind, amazing person. She was loved by all and had a heart of gold. She loved making people happy and always put others first. Ida was talented beyond words. She taught herself to sew and could make anything. Ida was an artist. She painted beautiful pictures and was always doodling. Ida loved animals and would rescue any animal in need. She was gifted at cooking and baking. Ida had a voice of an angel. Our house was constantly filled with her beautiful singing. Ida was an entertainer. She could play the horn without an instrument just by using her hands and could sing Patsy Cline like no other.

All were drawn to Ida because she made everyone feel special. She was a joy to be around. Ida was a devout Catholic and a true prayer warrior, serving the community with the prayer chain. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Angels. She visited the homebound and distributed communion.
Ida was a dedicated mother, grandmother and a loving wife. Her memories will live forever in our hearts.
