Michael J. Filipenko, 62, of Green Bay, husband of Ellen (Flynn) Filipenko, departed this life on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Mike was born in Berwyn, IL son of the late Warren and Teresa (Long) Filipenko. Mike attended Cochrane - Fountain City High School. He later enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War. Throughout his career Mike was a mechanic working for several companies including, Dolly Madison, Oscar Mayer, Lakeside Foods, and Omega Metal Treating. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman in his spare time. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake.

He is survived by his wife Ellen and their three daughters: Melinda (Doug) Larscheid, Shawna and Brenna Filipenko. He also leaves six sisters: Karen (Dan) Dunn, Kathy (Richard) Pershell, Kimberly (Marvin) Mueller, Cindy (Mark) Fitting, Patty (Keith) Marshman, and Betsy (Brian) Faber. Mike also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28th from 10 AM - 12 PM at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. A service will follow at 12 PM in the funeral home with full military honors.

The family would like to thank the many medical professionals who helped Mike throughout the years.
