Catherine married Robert "Bob" Persson, August 8, 1942 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Catholic Church. She was a member of the Saint Anne Society and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul society for the church until she moved up north after Bob retired. She was a long time member of St. Michael's Chapel.
Catherine enjoyed her family and loved spending time in the kitchen cooking for everyone.
She is survived by her three children: Robert (Carol) Persson Jr., Richard Persson and Dawn (John) Czerwinski; daughter-in-law, Rose Matheys; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Ritz and 2 brothers-in-law, Patrick Lee and Jack Wiegand; many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Persson Sr.; her parents, Ellen and Sylvester Ritz; son, Daniel Persson; daughter, Mary Ann Persson; brothers and sisters: Charles Ritz, Edward Ritz, Viola Suski, Alvina Wolke, Annabelle Wiegand, Ellen Karwedsky, William Ritz, Charlotte Lee and Elsie Ritz; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 3 to 7 PM. A rosary service will follow at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (140 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11 AM with Rev. Joseph Dorner, celebrant.
The family would like to thank Unity Hospice for their wonderful care and support. All contributions will be given to Unity in Catherine's name.
