William E. Smits, age 59, of Milwaukee, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born April 20, 1958 in Green Bay, son of the late Henry J. Smits, Jr. and Lorraine (Priewe) Smits.

William is survived by his long time partner, Robert Tuttle; his mother, Lorraine Smits and 8 siblings: Marianne (John) Hoes, Laura (Lawrence) Decker, Jennifer Barrett, Jonathan (Jamie) Smits, Kristine (Joel) Harris, Kathleen (David) Woodridge, Suzanne (Greg) Gray and Sarah Smits. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry J. Smits, Jr. and a nephew, Aero Norbert Nicholas Smits.

A celebration of William's life will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 1 to 3 PM. A memorial service will follow at 3 PM.
