Dale J. VandenLangenberg, 61, Abrams, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2014, surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 26, 1952, to Lawrence & Dorothy VandenLangenberg.

Dale enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years from 1970-1973.

He married the love of his life, Jane Cooney, on September 17, 1977, in Flintville.

Dale and Jane purchased Dale & Jane’s Pub in 1988, and together they ran it for 26 years.

He was a board member of The Tavern League of Wisconsin and a local officer of the Oconto County Tavern League.

Dale enjoyed watching nephews Nate & Buck on the team the pub sponsored. He enjoyed riding his Harley, Corvette and his mopeds, with Jane.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jane; children, Jason (Sadie Angell) VandenLangenberg and Jessica (Mike) Boomsma; grandchildren, Tyler, Kaeden and Collin; mother, Dorothy VandenLangenberg; siblings, David VandenLangenberg, Sandy (Jim) Sutrick, Diane (Andy) Bowers, Faye (Gary) Lardinois, Steve (Ellie) VandenLangenberg, Beth (Ray) Vande Hei, Lisa (John) Beyers, and Traci (Chuck) St. Pierre; sisters-in-law, Linda & Neal Ruechel and Connie & Wayne Kaiser, Nancy Wagner & friend Greg, Joan Cooney, Cindy & Buck Leanna; brother-in-law, Jim & Shelly Cooney; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; in-laws, Jackie & Gordon Cooney.

Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. A celebration of memories will be held at 5:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery with military honors.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and to all of their family and friends for their support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
