Rita E. (Van Beek) VandenBush, age 89, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015. She was born in Green Bay on April 21, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Borofka) Van Beek. She attended local schools, and spent a year working at the Pentagon during WWII.

Rita was married to Harold VandenBush and together they raised three sons. She worked for the Green Bay School District prior to retirement. Rita loved birds, flowers and knitting, and was an avid Packer fan. She will be sadly missed.

Rita is survived by her sons: Thomas (Colleen) of McKinney, TX, Craig (Mary Beth) of Oconomowoc, WI and Alan (Lori) VandenBush of McKinney TX. She also leaves her grandchildren: Matthew, Patrick, Alex, Brendan (Amy), Meghann (Brad) Nicholas and Ashley and a great-grandchild Nathan. She is further survived by her niece and caregiver Barbara (Louis) Vanden Avond.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, and her siblings Earl, Albert, Millie, Evelyn, Richard "Dick" and Lou.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on September 28, 2015 at ST. MARY OF THE ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH (645 S. Irwin Avenue, Green Bay, WI). Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 AM in church. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
