He was born in Freedom, WI on March 5, 1936, a son of the late Archibald and Mary (Rentmeester)Murphy. After high school, he went on to serve 6 years in the US Army. Ron worked as a carpenter, and spent most of his working years with Murphy Construction. He loved the outdoors,and especially time spent at the family’s cottage in Lakewood, WI. Ron also enjoyed woodworking and was an avid enthusiast of vintage cars, especially his ’65 Chevy convertible.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna, his children: Alan (Jan) Murphy and their children Melissa Fulton and Nicole (Dan) Gibson; Eric (Shelly) Murphy and their children Lauren Murphy,Macaela Murphy and Devin Murphy; Mary Jo (Ed) Dolata; Jim (Sharon) Murphy and their children Andrew Murphy, Connor Murphy,Kaitlyn Bilodeau and Cassie Bilodeau; Bob (Barb) Murphy and their children Amanda Murphy, Bob Murphy, Jr., and Kali Murphy; and Debbie Murphy and her son Zach Szymik; his great-grandchildren: Gavin, Jacob, Jackson, Addie, Audrianna, and Draxton,and his siblings: Carol (Joseph) Challe and Clifford Murphy.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Beatrice, Pearl, Dorothy, Roland and Joanne and sisters in law Helen and Delores.
All services were private.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Aurora Hospice staff for their wonderful care of Ronald and the family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be donated to the Wisconsin Disabled American Veterans (DAV) , 1253 Scheuring Rd Ste A, De Pere, WI 54115 of which Ron was a proud supporter.
