George drove concrete truck for Badger Ready Mix for 28 years and Green & Gold Concrete for 13 years, retiring in 2004. He was known to tip a few cold ones after work. He enjoyed deer hunting and small game hunting in his younger years. He bowled and golfed for many years. He especially liked fishing with his brothers and fishing buddies. He was a man of many names: Arnold, Gomer, George of the Jungle, Georgie Porgie, Bumpa and when he was younger, Junior.
Survivors include his loving wife and caregiver Mary. His children: Laura, George III and Joe; Grandchildren: Haley, Carly, Jerry (Jesse), Emily and Lauren (His 1st great Grandchild is due in August); Godchildren: Sue Leanna, Ron VandenElzen; Brothers Bernie (Jeanne) and Bob (Mary) VerHaagh; Sisters: Betty Linzmeier, Helen Healy, Theresa VandenElzen and Bernice VerHasselt; Mother-in-law Bernice DeBroux; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law: John (Carol), Connie (Becky), Rick DeBroux and Janice Besaw; numerous nieces & nephews and many friends.
George will be greeted in heaven by his Parents, Brother Jack, Sister Dory, Brothers-in-law; Elmer Smits, Bob Linzmeier, John Healy, Orville VandenElzen, and Bill VerHasselt.
Family and friends may gather Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 8:00 AM till 10:45 AM at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER PARISH,220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, WI 54115. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
