LaVonne C. “Vonnie” Pagel, age 77, of Green Bay, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015. She was born July 22, 1937 in Oconto Falls, daughter of the late Henry and Esther (Lambert) Church.

Vonnie married John “Jack” Pagel in 1955 and they shared many loving years of marriage together before he passed away in 1990, just a few days shy of their 35th Anniversary. La Vonne was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and her faith was very important to her. She was a master BINGO player and enjoyed playing at Mason Manor, especially with her best friend, Janice Fonder. Vonnie loved cats and shared her life with many feline friends. She was very fond of babies and spent time volunteering in local daycares for the “Grandma Program.” Vonnie’s family was her pride and joy.

LaVonne is survived by her children: Judy (Wayne) Rachow of Marion, NY, Janet (Alan) Murphy of Red Lion, PA and Jim Pagel of Green Bay; 10 grandchildren: Melissa Fulton, Nicole (Dan) Gibson, Christoper, Kayla, Kelly, Cory and James, Jr. Pagel, Caitlin and Casey Fazendin and Tia Pagel; 6 great-grandchildren ; 7 sisters: Phyllis (Robert) Phillips, Judy (Harold) Hobbs, Sherry Linssen, Esther (the late James) Colleary, Doris (Lloyd) Saffron, Kathy “Pat” Murray and Helen Piso ; a brother, Chris Christianson; and a special friend, Janice Fonder.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, John H. Pagel, Jr.; an infant sister, Ellen; and a brother, Thomas Christianson.

Friends and relatives may call at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay) Monday, July 13, 2015 from 3 to 5:45 PM. A funeral service will follow at 6 PM. Interment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.
