Bert joined the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942 and flew 30 missions in the Pacific during WWII. In 1945 he married June J. Kolar, whom he had met at Pauly Cheese Co. Bert worked for Pauly’s a total of 42 years, retiring as general manager. He served as president of the National Cheese Institute.
Once retired, Bert and June split time between their summer home in Door County and winter home in North Ft. Myers, FL. An avid fisherman, duck hunter and golfer, Bert also enjoyed a good card game anytime. Other hobbies were creating stained glass art and helping June with her artwork.
Lambert is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, June (Kolar) Arens and three sons, Robert (Jane) of Nashotah, WI, Ronald (Bonnie) of Green Bay, WI, and David (Becky) of Shawano, WI. Loving grandfather of eight grandchildren: Ben (Nicki), Jeremy (Yaa), Andrew and Joshua (Lindsey) Arens, Tim (Ann) and Jessica Arens, Kim (Steve) Henke and Jeff Arens. Loving great-grandfather of Kristin and John Zeiter, Matt, Elizabeth, Olivya, and Maiya Arens.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial visitation will be held at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay) on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 10:30AM to 11:45 AM. A funeral service will follow at 12noon. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
