1944 - 2018
After attenting UW-Extension, Bill proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. On June 14, 1969, Bill married Patricia Kerwin at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay, WI. In 1970, Bill earned a degree in Urban Analysis from UW-Green Bay. He continued his education and earned his teaching certification from UW-Oshkosh. He was a special education teacher at Seymour High School. For several years he also coached the mock trial team and the golf team at Seymour H.S., which he greatly enjoyed. He retired from teaching in 2002.
As a member of the Green Bay Country Club, Bill loved golfing and playing cards with his friends. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Pat; his daughter, Alicia (Scot) Matkovich of St. Louis, MO; his son, Christopher (Kate Zuidmulder) Hearden of Green Bay; and five grandchildren: Zachary and Maya Hearden, Christian and Mena Zuidmulder and Camden Matkovich. He is also survived by his sisters, Alice Conlin, Peggy Hoeffel; his brother, Patrick; brothers-in-law, George (Kasha) Kerwin, Peter (Kathy) Kerwin; sister-in-law, Barbara (Dan) DeBaker as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce and Bill Kerwin, sister, Genevieve Linsdau and brothers-in-law, Tom Linsdau and Jim Conlin.
Bill will be sadly missed by all.
Visitation will be at St. Matthew Catholic Church (130 St. Matthew St., Allouez) on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr. Bob Kabat, celebrant. A private interment will take place at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's honor to St. Matthew’s Church or The Ribbon of Hope Foundation.
