Phillip L. Andreas, age 80, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 20, 1937, in Manistee, MI to the late George & Hazelle (Fett) Andreas.

Phil met Esther Garrecht at the University of Michigan and they were married on January 30, 1960 in New Jersey. Phil graduated from the University of Michigan with a civil engineering degree. Phil's career brought him to Green Bay in 1962 with his family. Through his work he traveled to Europe, Africa and South America. He was a member of the Green Bay Jaycee's, Sierra Club, Gelandesprung & Venture Ski Clubs, and Lifelong Learning Institute.

He loved being in the outdoors, including being near or on the water, boating or kayaking; hiking in the mountains; and was an avid downhill skier through last winter. He also enjoyed feeding the wide variety of birds that visited his feeders.

Family was very important to Phil. Recently he researched his family ancestry back to the 1700's.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Esther; two sons, David Andreas and Brian (Mary) Andreas; daughter, Charlene Andreas; grandchildren, Benjamin & Brett Andreas and Stan Bethke; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Friday, November 3, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe Street, Green Bay. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at the church. Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions is assisting the family in arrangements. .

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Emergency Responders who came to the home, Aurora Baycare Hospital and Aurora At Home Hospice for their care of Phil.
