Audrey M. Klapper, 89, of Green Bay, beloved wife of the late Ervin R. Klapper, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Alpha Senior Concepts.

Audrey was born on December 29, 1927 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Maufort) DeBauche. She was a graduate of Green Bay East High School Class of 1946. Audrey met her husband, Ervin, while ice skating at Joannes Park in Green Bay. They were married on May 9, 1948 at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay and had celebrated 61 years of marriage. Most of her life she spent as a loving homemaker and later she worked at St. Vincent Hospital as a registrar until her retirement.

Audrey enjoyed spending time with Ervin at their cottage on St. John’s Lake in Northern Wisconsin. They spent many happy days there. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, doing ceramics, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.

Audrey is survived by her children: Roger (Karen) Klapper, Carol (Steve) Woods, and David Klapper. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren: Emilie (Jason) Harr and their son, Connor; Erin Klapper (Bee Lee) and their children Omi, Damien, Amaiya and Kenji; Alison Klapper (Jon La Force) and their daughter, Aurora; Joshua Woods (April Seeley); Travis Klapper (Kim Sonnabend) and their daughter, Kaia. She is further survived by a brother in law, Robert Klapper and a sister in law, Mary Klapper.

Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, a son, Roy, a brother, Donald DeBauche, brothers in law and sisters in law, Jean Klapper, Orvald (Irma) Klapper, LaVerne Klapper, and Jeanette (Lester) Buss.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison Street, Green Bay. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the church. Interment will be in the Kunesh Cemetery in Kunesh. Newcomer Cremations Funeral & Receptions of Green Bay has been entrusted with arrangements.

Audrey’s family would like to thank the staff of Alpha Senior Concepts and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to her during her time with them.
