Larry was born on November 6, 1946 in Oconto, WI, son of the late Joseph and Bernice (Calahmer) Schoen. He worked as a Mechanic and Auto Body Technician his entire career. He met his wife while working as a welder at Ladish in Milwaukee. They were later married on December 3, 1966. Larry was an avid fisherman and loved his fishing trips with the guys in Minnesota and Canada. He will be remembered for his expertise in mechanical and auto body work. He restored many cars both recreationally and professionally. In his spare time he enjoyed camping with his family and taking drives. He also enjoyed his trips to Texas visiting his brothers. Larry loved people, and maintained so many friendships, professional relationships, and was the guy people loved to visit with. He is remembered most as a man who was loved by family and will always be missed.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Virginia and their four children: Larry (Sandra) Schoen, Cyndi (Jim) Courtney, Andy (Dawn) Schoen and Pat (Kathy) Schoen. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Ann Schoen along with 10 beloved grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his extended family and friends. He leaves his beloved dog, Beagle. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Rex Schoen and his dog, Freddy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 10 AM - 12 PM at St. Mary's Church, 171 S. Wood Avenue, Peshtigo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 12 PM in the Church. Interment will be private. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions of Green Bay has been entrusted with arrangements.
