Earl was born on April 4, 1929 in Green Bay son of the late Walter and Violet (Lubenske) Gillis and Step-Mother Beatrice Aebischer. On October 31, 1953 he married LaVerne Dalebroux and she preceded him in death on December 25, 1996. He later married Delores Reed in 2000. He retired from James River Paper Company. In his spare time he enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. In his retirement he enjoyed his time as a seasonal camper and visiting the condo in Alabama.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Delores and his children: Jean (Mike) Sevcik, Patti (Jim) Chapman, Perry (Maureen) Gillis, and Jill (Dave) Borley. He also leaves 12 step-children. Earl also leaves a sister Eleanor (Jerry) Pamperin and a step-sister, Darlene Wery. He leaves 8 beloved grandchildren: Chris, Suzie, Jesse, Erin, Alison, Cody, Andy, and Alex, along with 6 great grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren. Earl is preceded in death by his first wife LaVerne and his siblings: Lois and Darold.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 4 - 6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 6 PM .
