Arnold M. Effa, 80, of Green Bay, beloved husband of Mary Ann Effa, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Bellin Hospital surrounded by his family.

Arnold was born on January 22, 1937 in Chicago, IL son of the late Anna (Kline) Effa. Arnold was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving honorably for 3 years during the Korean Conflict and later 6 years of reserve duty. While in the Corps he served in Intelligence Division. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He also loved his dog Tyco who even stayed at his bedside in the hospital.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years Mary Ann, and his children: Thomas (Anita) Wilkinson, Sue (Brian) Peterson, Jerry (Pamela) Wilkinson, Arnold (Cheryl) Effa Jr., and Kip (Melissa) Effa. He also leaves a sister, Starr (Andy) Neumann, along with 11 grandchildren: Elisia (Chris), Matt (Judy), Erica, Jackie (Brett), Chelci (Niko), Miranda, David, Justin, Jesse, Sebastian, and Tabatha along with 7 great grandchildren, 2 nieces: Tiffani (Brian) Kolosowski-Hutson and Michelle Pfitzer, and extended family. Arnie also leaves a special friend, Linda Gottfried. Arnold is preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Effa who was KIA in the Korea Conflict.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 10 - 12 PM at Fort Howard Memorial Park Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 12 PM with interment and full military honors to follow the service. The Newcomer Funeral Home of Green Bay has been entrusted with arrangements.
