Mary Jane worked as a CNA for Woodside Lutheran Home for over 20 years. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Mary Jane was a quiet, caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and wonderful friend. She was always there with her compassionate spirit to lend a helping hand. Mary Jane will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity not only to family and friends but to the many people she cared for over the years as a CNA. Mary Jane was a master seamstress who could repair anything, gardener who loved flowers, Fisherman who always caught the Big one and an outdoor enthusiast; but above all was a devoted Christian who believed in Jesus Christ as her personal savior.
Mary Jane is survived by her 4 children: Pamela McKeefry, Mary Jo Blaser, Linda (Todd) Nowaczyk and William H. (Jennifer) Messerschmidt III; 9 grandchildren: Meghan (Adam) Hasse, Shanna McKeefry, Trevor McKeefry, Madeline Blaser, Nicholas, Adam and Ethan (Emmy) Nowaczyk and Kaitlin and Maia Messerschmidt; one great-grandson, Hudson Hasse; husband of many years, William J. Messerschmidt, Jr. II; 3 sisters: Betty (Tom) Ratajczak, Viola (Marvin) Rollin and Vernelda Rosenthal and goddaughter, Teri Rosenthal. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene Crevier, a sister, Beulah Alsteen, her brother, Harvey Crevier and her mother-in-law and closest friend, Verna Messerschmidt.
Visitation will be held at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm. A prayer service will follow. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH (514 S. Clay St., Green Bay), at 11 am with Pastor Ethan Cherney officiating. Interment will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations for a memorial can be sent to the family.
