Roger Klish
1928 - 2017

Roger G. Klish, 89, of Green Bay, beloved husband of 67 years to Marie (De Beck) Klish, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center.

Roger was born on February 2, 1928, in Green Bay, son of the late Marian Klish. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force of which he was honorably discharged in 1949. On July 29, 1950 he married Marie and they spent many years of loving marriage together raising their four children. He retired after more than 40 years as an Engineer with the Green Bay Board of Education. In his younger years he and his wife were involved in the Good Sam's Club and the Whirl A Way Square Dance Club. He loved to go camping with family and friends. In his spare time his passion was metal detecting around the Brown and Door County areas. Roger was a longtime communicant of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. He was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything (except umbrellas) according to his youngest daughter!

He will be sadly missed by his wife Marie and their four children: Cathy (Michael) Barbeaux, Barb De Greef, Tom (Becky) Klish, and Lynn (Michael) Bretl. Roger also leaves his beloved grandchildren: Kristine (Michael) Hagen, Karen (John) Combs, Robb (Ramona) De Greef, Kevin (Amanda) De Greef, Chad (Erin) Klish, Craig Klish, Curt (Sarah) Klish, and Alex Bretl along with 16 great grandchildren. He also leaves his Aunt, Emma (Don) Drewieski. Roger is preceded in death by his infant son David Klish, Son-In-Law, Bob De Greef, and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday July 13th from 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation Thursday July 13th at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay at 4:00 PM with Full Military Honors to follow. Entombment will be private at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.

Roger's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to nurses and staff of Woodside Lutheran Senior Care and Aurora Baycare Medical Center for the wonderful and thoughtful care given to Roger and the family.
